چکیده

Liposome disintegration by either ultrasonic vibration or sodium cholate solubilization was investigated as a function of cholesterol (CH) content in the egg phosphatidylcholine (PC) liposome membrane. Turbidity changes were used as an indication of the membrane stability to these stresses. First-order disintegration constants (kufor ultrasonic stress and ksfor sodium cholate solubilization) were calculated to evaluate the membrane stability. A plot of ku against membrane CH content gave a sigmoidal curve on which inflection points occurred at about 15 mol% and 33 mol% CH. In contrast, the plot of ks against membrane CH content gave a biphasic curve with only one inflection point at about 17 mol% CH. These results can be explained in terms of the molecular

Physical properties of phosphatidylcholine vesicles containing small amount of sodium cholate and consideration on the initial stage of vesicle solubilization.

The effects of sub-solubilizing concentrations of sodium cholate (Na-chol) on several physicochemical properties of phosphatidylcholine (PC) small unilamellar vesicles (SUV) were considered in connection with the initial stage of membrane solubilization. ESR spectra of 12-doxylstearic acid (12-DS) in phosphatidylcholine from egg yolk (EPC) or dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC) SUV at low con...

Formulation and Evaluation of Aceclofenac Injection Made by Mixed Hydrotropic Solubilization Technique

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exhibits analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory activities. It is practically insoluble in water. The effect of hydrotropes such as urea and sodium citrate and blends (urea + sodium citrate) on the solubility of aceclofenac was investigated. The enhancement in the solubility of aceclofenac was more than 5 and 25 folds in 3...
